external image mushroom_cloud.jpgThe Cold War was a dark time for many people around the world because of the fact that they were alwase living in fear that each day was their last. The Cold War was one of the results of the end of WWII. Because Russia was a big player in ending WWII they were given a say in what should happen to the countries involved with the axis powers. However, the US, Brittan, and France had different ideas for what to do. Because of the different views on how to take care of the axis powers friction began to develop between Russia and the other countries. The main problem with the friction is that both sides began to threaten nuclear war. Naturally both sides knew that if they nuked the other then it would be the beginning of a devastating war that neither side could afford. And so began the Cold War.
